Sock Yarn Give Away

I have been trying to think of a framework for a little give away here at Peaceful Knitter. When I logged in to WordPress just now I noticed that this would be my 200th post.  It was a no brainer: time to celebrate with a prize!

While I was away I came across a cute little yarn shop in Georgetown, Kentucky called Stone’s Throw.  They were very friendly and didn’t mind one bit when I started rifling through a pile of Flat Feet sock yarn.  I had been reading about this stuff in magazines, but this was the first time I had seen this in person.  Naturally, I needed to see it all! I looked at every option and came away with this one.

And I’d like to give it to one of you!

The gimmick is that these panels of sock yarn are pre-knit and hand painted.  No 2 socks will be the same, making them true works of art.  When you want to get started on your sock, you simply find an end and start knitting, unravelling the panel as you go.  This eliminates the tricky issues of balls rolling away, yarn getting tangled, etc.

If you’d like to be entered to win this gorgeous and interesting yarn, simply leave a comment on this post.  I will draw a random winner on Wednesday April 8th.

  1. What a great idea. I’ve seen yarn that comes in a flat like that so you can dye it yourself, but none that was already dyed and ready to go! I would LOVE to be entered to win!

  2. I LOVE the colors! It is absolutely perfect >_< I’ve been meaning to try and knit socks…but I just can’t get myself to buy yummy yarn for it. I have a sweater that I am unraveling to make a different sweater- and you are right, so much easier to work with than a ball of yarn! No tangles! Hehe Happy 200th post…I think I’m only on like post 12 with my blog. ha

  3. I’ve never heard of this yet! Too bad you don’t get to keep it for yourself (snicker). I loved your T-shirt bag so much I am bookmarking it! Keep up with the sewing, it (and the bobin winding) get easier as you go along.

Good luck to everyone in the drawing.

  4. Happy 200th post! Congratulations! (Congratulations both for reaching the milestone and for, unlike me, keeping track!)

  5. 200 posts! And I think I’ve read every one of them — and I’m already looking forward to the next 200 posts! I love this window into your life, your knitting, your soul…

  6. Wow 2oo! That is quite a feat! I never have tried the flat feet, but would love to enter. Keep up the great postings!!

  7. i think we just closed an account there. i must say that yours is the most eye catching blog that I read. Hope you and sweetie have settled back in after the vacation.

  8. I just learned about Flat Feet a few weeks ago. I am in the process of knitting a pair of mittens with it right now and would love a chance to try my hand with another flat for a pair of socks. Please enter me in the contest. Congratulations on your 200th post.
