A few weeks ago, in an attempt to “unplug” and “savor the moment” a little bit more, I decided to try out an experiment. No Internet on Sundays. The rest of the week, I typically begin my day by pulling up a seat at the computer, sipping coffee or tea or eating a bowl of cereal, and checking to see what new and interesting things have happened to other people since the last time I checked. Things change quickly in this online world of blogging and crafting, and I wouldn’t want to miss a beat, would I? Surely I would read more or do more crossword puzzles if I wasn’t checking out the forums on Ravelry or reading other people’s status updates on Facebook.
Mostly I watch more TV. Or knit. Or hang out with Sweetie. Good things, all of them, and I really don’t miss getting online all that much for one day. Besides, it’s all the more exciting when I get to sit down and catch up on Monday morning.
So here we are on the first Sunday afternoon in October. I’m going to try to do this blog post and sign off promptly, but if I’m honest I will probably check things over on Ravelry before powering down. Just in case.
The images in this post are the first 4 photos representing the first 4 days of my October 2009. I plan on sharing the week’s photos every Sunday with minimal commentary so I can get back to more enriching, non-Internet related activities. Like watching last week’s episode of America’s Next Top Model.
Enjoy your day.
