Slug Wars

Bet you can’t knit just one.

  • Pattern: Snails and Slugs from Mochimochi Land (free!), Ravelled here
  • Yarn: Blue Moon Fiber Arts Lightweight in Pond Scum and River Rocked for the snail, Simply Socks Yarn samples for slugs
  • Needles: US 2 /2.75 mm
  • Mods: Didn’t bother to make eyes.

Is this what living in Oregon means to a knitter: battling the urge to knit the oft-alarming invertebrate mascot of the region?  If so, I don’t mind.  They’re very cute knit up, and they use up the most miniscule of sock yarn scraps.  Plus, I can’t help thinking that by knitting these up I’m caching some sort of good-slug karma for my future gardening ventures.  Better make a couple more, just in case.

  1. Very funny! Who wouldn’t need a knitted slug or snail? I made a pair of kanoko pants for Olivia, inspired by you. (Same yarn- colorway- sea mist) They are precious (in my humble opinion!) Happy Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for. We will miss you both and PB too (and your apple pie and green bean casserole!) at our celebration this year. Hope PB enjoys her first Thanksgiving.
